Steve Bartell
Founder/Owner/Manager
My passion for cigars began with childhood memories of my grandfather and uncle sharing stories over premium tobacco and tales of fishing and the Red Sox. A Romeo y Julieta Vintage III in college ignited my true journey, leading to decades of discovery alongside passionate aficionados worldwide.

When I encountered what would become Molon Labe Cigars in 2018, this artisanal, small-batch puro embodied the nostalgic craftsmanship of old-world Cuba. The vision evolved naturally: Molon Labe Coffee in 2022, followed by our spirits line in 2023, creating the perfect trifecta of refined indulgence.

In April 2023, partnering with Saddle Up Saloon, we founded Ash Cigar Lounge to create something unprecedented in New England: expert curation meets genuine hospitality. Today, witnessing the connections formed here, the fellowship that defines the Molon Labe family, and the joy of shared discovery remind me why this journey began with a grandfather's smile and a simple love for life's finer moments.

A lifelong New Englander and natural entrepreneur, Bob launched his first business at seventeen and has never looked back. His commitment to Kingston runs deep. When he opened Saddle Up Saloon in 2018, he envisioned more than a restaurant, creating a genuine community gathering place where neighbors become family and every meal celebrates local hospitality.

While developing the adjacent space, Bob researched what was missing from the area's quality of life. His vision of a luxury cigar lounge began to take shape, but it wasn't until meeting Steve Bartell that the dream found its perfect partner. Two like minds sharing the same passion for exceptional experiences and genuine community brought Ash Cigar Lounge to life.

Today, Bob's dual venues represent his belief that hospitality isn't just about service, it's about creating spaces where memories are made, relationships flourish, and every guest leaves feeling like they've discovered something special in the heart of New England.

With twenty-nine years of mastering the art of hospitality, Leanne brings an intuitive understanding of what transforms good service into unforgettable experiences. As co-owner of both Saddle Up Saloon and Pondview Events, she's built a reputation for creating moments that guests remember long after they leave.

Her gift for orchestrating our special and themed events has become legendary among our community, turning simple gatherings into celebrations of refined indulgence.
